14 things that are true for every big sister-little brother relationship

So. Much. Slagging.

1. Growing up, you didn’t always get along.

There were regular disputes over what to watch on Saturday morning, for instance.

2. But you learned to live with each other and accommodate each other’s interests.

“I’ll let you watch WWE if I can watch Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”

3. As the older sister, you’ve saved your brother’s skin on countless occasions.

You’re often the person sending “It’s Mam’s birthday on Sunday” reminders over text or coordinating Mother’s Day cards.

4. As the younger brother, you’ve come to rely on your sister for wisdom and guidance

You’ve been known to send, “What did I do?” texts to her.

5. You slag each other relentlessly. To the point where it might seem like you don’t love each other ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You do. You just have a funny way of showing it.

6. As the little brother, you were guilty of tormenting your big sister.

Usually with farts.

7. You’ve had your fair share of DMCs over the years.

Although being nice to and considerate of each other usually doesn’t last very long.

8. You might be grown up, but there’s still a bit of a sibling rivalry there and you’re not beyond telling on each other

“HE’S HUNGOVER, MAM.”

9. And you still have arguments about who’s the favourite child

Petty? You? Never.

 10. You’ve had your fair share of pranks over the years…

11. And you have more inside jokes than you care to count.

Your Whatsapp group is just an endless stream of inside jokes/embarrassing baby photos. (You’ve both been known to share mortifying childhood photos on Facebook.)

12. As an older sister, you bossed your little brother around a lot

Hey, it was all part of his training, okay?

13. And you almost certainly abused your power as an older sister by straightening his hair/doing makeovers

14. But it’s okay because he forgave you and now that you’re all grown up, you’re best pals.

Who else can you slag, offer life advice to and make fun of your parents with? Nobody.
